All Rock Island Library locations, including Library2Go bookmobile routes, are closed for the Christmas holiday on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25. Libraries are open normal hours Monday and Thursday of Christmas week, but there will be no Goodwill computer assistance program on Dec. 26.

PALS is a volunteer organization formed under the Rock Island Public Library Foundation. You'll find our PALS working at monthly book sales, speaking up for the value of our library to the community, and helping with programs.
In addition to the New York Times Online, we now offer the Newsbank database suite, which significantly expands your access to digital newspapers at no cost! It includes more than 2,500 local, regional, and national newspapers, and TV news content.
The Seed Library is now closed for the 2024 growing season. We are thrilled to announce that we distributed 4,363 seed packets, twice as many when compared to our 2023 season!
Our Fine Free policy for RIPL cardholders wasn't only for our anniversary year - it's an ongoing policy! That means that late fines for Rock Island Public Library (RIPL) cardholders are mostly a thing of the past.
