2026 Seed Library Now Available!

Gardening season is officially here! The Rock Island Public Library Seed Library collection is available for selection at all library buildings from March 17, 2026 until late September 2026.

Community Comfort Carts

A bit of comfort, in the form of Community Comfort Carts, are now available at all Rock Island Public Library physical locations. The goals are to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by discussing it openly, leading people to resources, and letting people know that they are not

Join our PALS!

PALS is a volunteer organization formed under the Rock Island Public Library Foundation. You'll find our PALS working at monthly book sales, speaking up for the value of our library to the community, and helping with programs.

In addition to the New York Times Online, we now offer the Newsbank database suite, which significantly expands your access to digital newspapers at no cost!  It includes more than 2,500 local, regional, and national newspapers, and  TV news content. 

RIPL Cardholders Are STILL Fine Free

Our Fine Free policy for RIPL cardholders wasn't only for our anniversary year - it's an ongoing policy! That means that late fines for Rock Island Public Library (RIPL) cardholders are mostly a thing of the past.
