Week Calendar

Youth Services staff will be reading and sharing literacy activities with the RIMSD Head Start and Preschool for All classes.

Young children and their caregivers are invited to enjoy this story time full of short books, action rhymes and songs.

For ages 0 - 5 years old.

Meet neighbors and create community at Coffee & Conversations every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at the Southwest Library! Coffee, light refreshments, and optional activities will be provided.

Relaxing and casual fun for kids 5 and younger with their caregiver.  Toys and activities will be set out from  10 am to noon at the Downtown Library, Children's Room.

We welcome the LEAD Friday groups from Eugene Field Elementary to the library to learn about library cards, our collection, programs and be reading leaders!

The 26th most banned book of 2022, due to its inclusion of anti-police messages, alcohol, drug usage, and profanity, it nonetheless carries awards as the 2016 Coretta Scott King Author Honor book and the Walter Dean Myers Award

Looking to join a book club? We would love to have you join our Southwest Book Club! This month, we will be discussing The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré.

Looking for assistance with computer skills and searching for jobs?

Stop by the Watts-Midtown Branch and learn about our new 3-D printers. You can also take home something 3-D printed (first come first served though), and try out 3-D pens.

This event is part of our Project Next Generation series.

Join us on Monday, February 24th, at our Watts-Midtown Branch Library for a presentation on how to best care for our aging parents. Presented in partnership with the Quad Cities Women's Outdoor Club and Alternatives. More details to come!
