All Rock Island Public Library buildings will be closed Wednesday, August 21 so that all staff can attend Staff Development. Library2Go bookmobile will be off the road for the day. Book returns and online services will be available.

Event Details

Looking for a book club with no assigned reading or focused discussions? Then joining a Silent Book Club may be for you! The Rock Island Public Library is excited to host the Quad Cities Chapter of Silent Book Club ®, which is part of a global community dedicated to gathering and reading silently together in quiet camaraderie.

While this book club normally meets weekly at rotating venues, it will now always be hosted every third Thursday at the Watts-Midtown Branch Library from 5:30-6:30pm. Join us for a full hour of uninterrupted reading with fellow book lovers. At the end of the hour, attendees are either welcome to talk books or to keep reading - it's all up to you!
