Week Calendar

In collaboration with Goodwill of the Heartland's voter registration drive, Rock Island Public Library personnel will be onsite at the Martin Luther King Community Center to register citizens for a library card.

We will be listening to a story then creating messy art projects.

For ages 0 - 5 with a caregiver.

Annual celebration of the freedom to read and think as you like. Features readings of favorite passages from banned or challenged books by local readers, writers, and other fans of the written word. 

Short talk and discussion, led by Dr. David Schwartz, professor of journalism and media at Augustana College. Take a look at the current media climate with a discussion about fake news vs credible news, and how to tell the difference.

The book The Impossible Fortress by Jason Rekulak will be discussed.  Join in the conversation.

Calling all Kindergarten-3rd graders.  We will be having our Rocket into Reading-Sports!  Enjoy reading activites and learning new skills.  Each student receives a Rocket into Reading sports bag.
