This program is being offered in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension and will take place via Zoom.

You may have recently discovered that you have diabetes or someone close to you does. You are not alone. 1 in 11 Americans has diabetes and 1 in 3 has prediabetes. Kristin Bogdonas, nutrition and wellness educator for University of Illinois Extension will introduce you to some tools that can help you manage carbohydrate intake and plan meals effectively. Managing this disease will help prevent damage to your heart, eyes and nerves over time.

Everyone will receive a diabetes portion plate, carbohydrate counting pocket guide and presentation handouts which you will pick up from the library. Once registered, you will be able to pick up your program materials ahead of time from the Rock Island Public Library at 401 19th Street, Rock Island. We will practice using these tools during the webinar. Contact Karrah Kuykendall for curbside pick-up information at 309-732-7345.

Support for this program is made possible, in part by a City of Rock Island Gaming Grant. Space is limited, so register today.
