Thanksgiving Holiday Closings

All Rock Island Library buildings will close at 6pm Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 & 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Library2Go routes are also cancelled. 

Stay in touch with our digital services and PrairieCat app! All locations reopen on Saturday, Nov. 20 with normal 10am to 2 pm hours.

Event Details

Explore science, technology, environment, art, and math with fun projects, shows, and activities. Hands on  fun and learning for school age kids, grades K-6. Registration required. Can sign up for all projects or for individual events.

Today's project is "Strange New Planet," where you'll plan and carry out 5 missions to a planet, and then communicate your discoveries. Learn how scientists work!
