Southwest Branch 50th Anniversary Open House

The Southwest Branch of the Rock Island Public Library opened its doors to the public 50 years ago on today's date, September 25, 1974.

Join your friends and neighbors in our Open House to celebrate these years of library service to the community in a unique and cherished partnership with the City of Rock Island's Fire Department, as it shares the building with Fire Station #2.

Drop into the Southwest Branch today for an open house to celebrate the branch's opening anytime during open hours.

Toddler Tales Storytime: 11 am

Refreshments: Noon to 4 pm

Southwest Book Club: 4:00 pm
