Program Description

Event Details

Join us over the lunch hour and see what the talented kids of the Quad City Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship program for Poetry and Improv have been up to. This event will include live performances by youth ages 15 to 21, who are spending the summer in paid summer apprenticeships in the arts. Quad Cities, you've got talent!  This event is free and open to anyone.

From Quad City Arts:

Come support young artists while they sharpen their skills with the Quad City Arts’ Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program! We've created a mash-up of our Improv and Poetry groups and we're very excited to see these young performers at work. With the guidance of lead artists Erin Mahr and Aubrey Barnes, respectively, our Metro Arts Improv and Poetry apprentices have been developing their skills and can't wait to share them with the community. Join these apprentices for one of four community performances!

Metro Arts Apprenticeship Program brings together creative young adults and provides them with productive, paid apprenticeships in the arts. The program is open to any student age 15-21 residing in the Quad Cities region. Participants will work on group projects under the supervision of a professional artist. Participants learn techniques and applications of their particular genre while developing professional skills.
