Thanksgiving Holiday Closings

All Rock Island Library buildings will close at 6pm Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 & 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Library2Go routes are also cancelled. 

Stay in touch with our digital services and PrairieCat app! All locations reopen on Saturday, Nov. 20 with normal 10am to 2 pm hours.

Allen McCaulley is an author of children's picture books. He grew up in Moline, Illinois and many years ago served as mayor of Moline. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in economics and later received an MBA from the University of Iowa. He is the author of the Whimsical Max series. 

Allen will be sharing what inspired him to be a writer and this series of stories starring Max.
