An Interesting Rock Island Girl (Irma Koen)

Art historian Cynthia Empen helps us rediscover the life and art of Rock Island artist Irma Rene Koen.  The Rock Island native and RIHS graduate is the subject of the Figge Art Museum exhibition, Irma Rene Koen: An Artist Rediscovered, September 30 to December 31, 2017.  One of her works, Gloucester in Autumn, which she donated to the Rock Island Public Library in April 1943, has been lent to the museum for the exhibition.
