Event Details
Would you like to get acquainted with the Library Edition of the genealogy website Ancestry.com? Perhaps you would like to start your journey toward discovering your ancestors. Maybe you were just toying with the idea but not certain how to go forward with it or if you even could pursue it.
This could be a place to begin, since this program is actually a hands-on workshop that will teach you how to log into Ancestry's database at the library's location using the library's laptops, or using your own while on site. It will show you how to start with this "grandaddy" of all genealogical search engines, which you can use at your local library at no cost at all to you as a patron or researcher.
The workshop will last for most of an hour with the goal of getting you into the database and learning some basics on how to get started using it.
Registration is required and limited to 10 registrants; there will be a small waitlist in case their are openings close to time.
For questions, please email shearouse.james@rigov.org or call the desk in the Historical Room at 309-732-7352.
