Thanksgiving Holiday Closings

All Rock Island Library buildings will close at 6pm Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 & 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Library2Go routes are also cancelled. 

Stay in touch with our digital services and PrairieCat app! All locations reopen on Saturday, Nov. 20 with normal 10am to 2 pm hours.

Have you always wanted to try a new hobby out, but don't know where to start? Introducing our new adult Fall season Take & Make series: Fall in Love with a New Hobby. Every 2 weeks we will release a new kit designed to get started on a new hobby that you can enjoy at home! This week we will be giving away a Bread Baking kit filled with resources and materials to get you started. After you register, we will contact you to make arrangements for pick-up! Registration is required.

The kit will include the following:

  • 2 packets of active dry yeast
  • 2 bread tins
  • list of resources to help you get started on your new hobby!
