Event Details
Join us for a virtual "read-out" of passages from books that have been challenged for their right to remain available to the public. This annual event is co-presented with the Midwest Writing Center in recognition of Banned Books Week, September 26-October 2, 2021. Join us in celebrating our awesome freedom to read!
Using Zoom, local volunteers will share their favorite passages from works that have faced censorship challenges, and what the freedom to read means to them. You're invited to watch online along with us. Register below to receive the Zoom link. The event will be livestreamed to Facebook Live and MWC’s YouTube page:

Please note that while this event is open to everyone, some mature content will not be suitable for all audiences.
If you'd like to volunteer as a reader, please contact Sarah Elgatian at the Midwest Writing Center, sarah.elgatian@mwcqc.org. Reading slots are limited by time constraints and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
