What is It?
Prepare your child for kindergarten as you share stories and the joy of reading with our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge. If you read just one book per night, you'll have read 365 books in a year. Remember to count the books you hear at storytime and other library events!
How Does It Work?
Read to your child daily to earn small rewards for reaching 100-book milestones.
- Easily track the books you read together through the Beanstack app or website.
- Or pick up a paper form at any Rock Island Library.
When you reach 1,000 Books, your child will get a certificate and book. Take a photo to mark your accomplishment!
