The following items are currently available in our current "Grab & Go" response to COVID-19:

 
  • Enjoy free access to NYTIMES online at this library! Read at the library or at home with our link.
  • Digital Content, such as digital books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, music, on-demand video streaming, comic books, & more.

  • Books in all formats, DVDs, CDs, magazines, graphic novels, VOX audio/print books for children, and more. Quantity limitations apply for DVDs. 

  • Use library computers for 60 minutes (limited availability, appointment required.)

  • Learn online with tools for general research, genealogy/history, stocks, homework help, and more. (Try our Consumer Reports online subscription!)

  • Find book recommendations with Bookletters, NoveList, Bookmate, and our Librarian's Pick services.

  • Virtual programming, and "Take Home and Make" kits for kids, adults, and teens.
 
  • Cultural/Museum Passes to Quad City Botanical Center, Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum, Rock Island Fitness Center, German-American Heritage Center. Also available with library cards from an Illinois public library. Sorry, no interstate borrowing.
 
  • Mobile hotspots, limited availability, 7-day checkout only, for checkout as available. A  user contract is required. Checkout is in-library only (not via Curbside.)

The following services are not currrently available during this phase of our COVID-19 reopening plan:

 
  • Due to post-COVID reservation restrictions, lendable passes are not currently available for Niabi Zoo.

  • Take advantage of statewide discounts and passes for museums, science centers, and other cultural venues from Explore More Illinois. To get started, go to the Explore More website, choose Rock Island Library, and log in with your library card credentials! Please note that COVID closings may affect availability here, too. If you have a library card from another city, check the list to see if they participate.
 
  •  Library of Things collection: Cake pans, video games, fishing poles, craft items, PickleBall paddles, board games, oversized yard games, and more. Please check with staff regarding current availability for borrowing.
  • Family fun and learning: Puppets, toys, learning kits, Very Ready Reader packages, and family puzzles, are not available during this phase of COVID.
