2019 RockTown Reading Challenge for All Ages: June 1 to July 31

Explore a Universe of Stories from June 1 to July 31, with reading challenges and rewards for all ages. Enter, read, win! Check the library calendar for fun and learning events, available at no additional charge, for the entire family. What you read is up to you. Just READ! (if you'd like suggestions, we have whole universe of possibilities!)

Mission Goals: Astronaut reading in space

  • Kids, birth to 6th grade: 6 hours or 24 books
  • Teens, ages 12 to 18: Up to 1,000 minutes (Prizes every 250.)
  • Adults - Seven books
 

How it Works:

Kids, birth to 6th grade: Track your reading by time or by books, it's your choice.

  • Prizes every 2 hours or 8 books; read 6 hours or 24 books to finish the program.

  • Prize levels: Registration: Bookmark; Stage 1: Robot Tattoo; Stage 2: Prize Book; Stage 3: Choice of foam rocket, mini astronaut, or fabric rocket. Finishers eligible for our Summer SplashDown party at Whitewater Junction or the Milan Sprayground! Limited space, Library staff will register you when you finish your Captain's Log.

Teen Challenge, Ages 12 to 18: Track by minutes

  • Prize drawings every 250 minutes; 1,000 minutes  to complete the challenge. Prizes: 250 minutes: Book; 500 minutes: $5 gift card drawings (50 available); 750 minutes: Funko figures (20 available); 1,000 minutes: $15 gift card drawings (10 available.)

Adult Challenge, !8 and up: Track by books

  • Read 4 books for the half-way prize of a mini sticky note pad and 7 books to complete your mission and win a luminous car charger!

With all three programs, Show, Share & Tell us about your reading on your social media account. Use the hashtag #RockTownReads to be entered into random drawings for extra rewards all summer! RockTownReads prize drawings for postings between June 1 to July 31, winners announced on official RockTownReads Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, so please follow any of these RockTownReads sites!
