The Rock Island Library's Children's Department has thousands of resources for kids from birth through 6th Grades.  Visit us at our Main Library Children's Room, which offers puzzles and special collections for parent/teachers and homeschoolers. Children's resources can also be found at our 30/31 and Southwest Branches.  

What's new in children's books? Beverly Cleary's endearing Quimby family hits the big screen on July 23 with the release of the movie Ramona and Beezus.  Although the movie is only loosely based on the original book, it stays true to the characters while introducing some modern variations. To brush up on your Beverly Cleary or to introduce these unforgettable characters to your children, remember that the movie switches the names--Cleary's book is Beezus and Ramona. Before you see it, read it, at your library!
