at Food for Thought - a Night of Roaring Reads!

Join us after work for a Night of Roaring Reads! You'll feel like the Great Gatsby, as we transform the library in a jazz-age spot for convival conversing, dining around the Main Library, listening to cool jazz, and bidding on books and other items to support your library.
- Dining around the library with six food stations featuring tastes of Rock Island, from starters to desserts. Chefs include Eudell Watts, III, Craig Joos of Rock Island HyVee, Martha Cleaveland of Blue Cat Brew Pub, Cool Beanz of Rock Island, Chef Kyle of Doc's Inn, Chef Jose Zepeda, Brad Scott and the SCC Culinary Arts Academy and more.
- Complimentary craft brews from the Blue Cat Brew Pub, and specially selected wines by Thad Miller in our Library "speakeasy." Soft drinks, water and coffees also served.
- Live jazz music fit for one of Jay Gatsby's parties with the Edgar Crockett Duo and tickling of the ivories by Joe D'Souza.
- Lively silent auction bidding featuring more than 30 books signed by their authors, packages and unique gift items.
Admission includes all food and drink. Reservations are strongly recommended, and to encourage them,we are offering those who RSVP a special admission rate.
Admission with Advance RSVP is $30 for one or $55 for two people. Bring a friend!
Walk-in admission at the door on Nov. 14 is $35 per person, regardless of number in the party. RSVP for best results.
Proceeds benefit the Rock Island Library. Youth accompanied by an adult are admitted at no charge.
